PROMOTION SCHEDULE
 

1. A one step promotion will be given for each 100 points earned up to the rank of Commander (LT. Colonel).
2. Promotions will be awarded at the next meeting after points are earned.
3. The highest rank attainable for local level service is Commander (Lt. Colonel). Captain is awarded upon assuming a ship's command or through service promotion by
    the Regional Coordinator, and any rank higher is awarded by Nomination to Starfleet.
4. Flag ranks are earned through service to Starfleet, Int’l, Starfleet Academy or to SFMC at the Regional  and International level.

100 PTS

1. Passing Department exam (taken only once during career)
2. Passing Starfleet's Officer's Training Course (OTS)

50 PTS

1. Passing Starfleet's Officer Candidate School (OCC)

30 PTS

1. Passing any other Starfleet Academy or Starfleet Marine Academy course.
2. Attending Fleetmeet

25 pts

1. Joining Starfleet or renewing membership in Starfleet

20 PTS

1. Submitting a Department report (in addition to meeting attendance)

10 PTS

1. Participating in a Ship's work party
2. Attending Ship's special activity (picnics, field trips, etc.)
3. Submittal of a half-page or longer article to the Ship's newsletter, on IBM disk or via e-mail.
4. Submittal of an original cartoon or artwork, copy ready, to the newsletter.
5. Getting someone to join the Ship.

5 PTS

1. Attendance at a meeting
2. Submittal of a short article to the newsletter.
3. Short department report from members who cannot attend in person.
4. Bringing a guest to a meeting.
5. Bringing refreshments to a meeting.
6. Each hour of participation in a community charity event (like KUAC telethon, Walkathon, Foodbank, Volunteer labor)
7. Each hour of service manning the Ship’s carnival booth.

PENALTIES

10 points will be deducted for each month USS SOL dues are late up to a maximum of 100 points. Dues are payable by Dec. 31.

When a member fails to renew and has been absent over 10 months: commissioned officers who had previously passed OTS must re-enlist at the ENSIGN rank unless their Starfleet memberships have been kept up. Members who were in the PETTY OFFICER ranks or who had been commissioned officers and NOT passed OTS, must re-enlist as PETTY OFFICER 3RD CLASS unless their Starfleet memberships have been kept up. The returning member may appeal this decision to the Senior Officers for review. Consideration will be made for past service and extenuating circumstances.
