THE BRIDGE OF THE U.S.S. SOL NCC - 1733-A
3.0 USS SOL, NCC-1733
The construction of the United Star Ship Sol (Navel Construction Contract 1733) was delayed 8 months because of unforeseen problems with the USS Achernar (NCC-1732). Her construction finally began on November 1, 2261, (Stardate 2160) in one of Starfleet's San Francisco Fleet Yard dry-docks. She was launched on March 16, 2263 (Stardate 4660), and commissioned on August 17, 2263 (Stardate 5430). She was named after Earth's sun Sol (Which was named after the Roman sun god, Sol).
The USS Sol was assigned to Starbase 1 (Space Dock) and served in Sector 001 for most of her career. Her first commander, Captain Trina Anderson achieved the rank of Fleet Captain of in the year 2269 and made Commodore in 2272. She coordinated the starships in Sector 001 for several years and used the USS Sol as her flagship. In 2275 the USS Sol took part in the famous Chekov Mission. Commodore Anderson was followed by Captain Robyn Russell in 2278, and by Dona Namet in 2281.
In 2290 the USS Sol was refitted with Type VII RSM-12a phaser banks in her secondary hull and the "Lancelot" deflector shield system.
The USS Sol was scheduled to enter the Starfleet Reserve Force in 2291 but she disappeared and was declared missing-in-action in 2290.
