With two sickbays and a hospital, Medical is prepared to meet ALL the medical needs of many species in the Federation from emergency treatment to long-term care.

The Sector Chief of Medicine oversees the administration of sickbays aboard the sector's vessels and starbases. He also oversees the deployment of Medical Ships. One such ship, the USS David Livingston, backs up combat missions and missions of aid in the event of planetary disasters.
