Akleen,Tret - male - Putative founder of modern Cardassia. Akleen Sector on Cardassia Prime was named after him. A Stitch in Time

 

Ari - Male -

Ari was a Cardassian soldier serving on Cardassia in 2371. He was an aide or other form of associate to Legate Tekeny Ghemor, and a member of Cardassia's dissident movement opposing the seemingly limitless authority of the Central Command and the Obsidian Order. Fiercely loyal to Legate Ghemor, he was killed by Entek, an Obsidian Order operative attempting to expose Ghemor as a traitor and while trying to help Kira Nerys escape from Cardassia Prime. Asha - Female

Asha was a Cardassian war orphan abandoned on Bajor after the occupation of Bajor. When Doctor Julian Bashir and Garak came to the center where Asha lived looking for some files, Asha politely asked if Garak had come to take her and the other children home. (DS9: "Cardassians")

Belor, Ulani - Female

Doctor, Scientist (Ministry of Science). In order to help set up a subspace relay through the wormhole, came to DS9 with Dr. Gilora Rejal. DS9: Destiny

 

 

Benil - Male - Gul.

The commander of the 8th Order and a captain of a Galor-class Cardassian warship. In 2371, Benil's ship intercepted the Federation starship Defiant on its way to Cardassia to rescue Major Kira from the Obsidian Order. Garak, who was on the rescue team, issued an Obsidian Order access code, which convinced Benil to apologize and go on about his business.  DS9: Second Skin

Boheeka - Male - Glinn.

Boone, Raymond - Male

Borven - Male - Glinn. Aide to Gul Trepar in 2373. A political opportunist, according to Ghemor. DS9: Ties of Blood and Water

 

Broca - Male

 Legate. The third puppet leader of the Cardassian Union, chosen by Weyoun during the Dominion occupation of Cardassia and promoted from gul to legate. Later after the destruction of Lakarian City, he was executed by the Jem'Hadar on orders of the female changeling. DS9: The Dogs of War, What you leave behind

Bronok - Male - A Cardassian officer and Dominion resistance fighter in 2375 under Gul Rusot, one of Rusot's most experienced men.  He was involved in the planting of a bomb in a Jem'Hadar ship's intercooler matrix. He and his four companions ignored the orders of Kira Nerys, who had told them to plant it in the secondary plasma relay.  DS9: Tacking Into the Wind, When it Rains

Brun - Male - Former associate and later enemy of Enabran Tain. In 2373, Tain's son, Garak, intimated that Tain was responsible for Brun's death. DS9: In Purgatory's Shadow

Bry, Maran - male - Poet who was noted for his criticism of the Bajoran Occupation.  A Stitch in Time

Corak - Male - Glinn (aide to Gul Lemec).

 Corak attended when Lemec held talks aboard the U.S.S. Enterprise-D in 2369 with Captain Jellico. TNG: Chain of Command, Part 1 and 2

Damar, Corat - Male

Danar - Male - Gul. The commander of the Cardassian warship Aldara. In 2369 Gul Danar contacted Commander Sisko of Deep Space 9 to demand the return of Bajoran terrorist Tahna Los, who had been granted asylum aboard the station.  DS9: Past Prologue


Darhe'el
- Male

Gul.   Commander of the Gallitep labor camp during the Cardassian occupation of Bajor. Darhe'el was responsible for thousands of Bajorans being tortured and killed while working under brutal conditions, and thus became known as the "Butcher of Gallitep." His acts of violence against the people of Bajor won him admiration from his superiors and earned him the Proficient Service Medallion. When ordered to leave Gallitep, Darhe'el had all the Bajoran laborers under his authority slaughtered, although a few did escape. Darhe'el died in his sleep in 2363 from a massive coleibric hemorrhage, and was buried under one of the largest military monuments on Cardassia with full honors. In 2369, Darhe'el's file clerk from Gallitep, a man named Aamin Marritza, impersonated Darhe'el in hopes of exposing the atrocities that had been committed at Gallitep. DS9: Duet


Daro - Male

Glinn . Aide to Gul Macet, one of two Cardassian glinns who came aboard the Enterprise-D in 2367 as an observer during the search for the renegade starship Phoenix. While aboard, Daro made friendly overtures to Chief Miles O'Brien, but O'Brien found it difficult to be cordial to an ex-enemy. But over drinks in Ten-Forward, O'Brien approached Daro and explained himself, relating his experiences during the massacre at Setlik III. He confessed to Daro that he didn't hate Cardassians, but he hated what he had become because of them. TNG: The Wounded

Dejar, Nal - Female - Cardassian female, an operative of the Obsidian Order. In 2371 Dejar attempted to sabotage a joint Cardassian-Bajoran scientific effort to place a subspace relay in the Gamma Quadrant.

The Obsidian Order, angry at the recently signed Bajoran-Cardassian Treaty, sent Dejar to Deep Space 9 to sabotage the attempt, posing as a third scientist. She sabotaged the USS Defiant's main emitter coupling. When the ship fired at a comet that was about to destroy the Bajoran wormhole, it shattered the comet instead of vaporizing it as planned. Gilora did not wish Miles O'Brien to be blamed for incompetence resulting in the malfunction and she revealed Dejar's status as an Obsidian Order operative. Dejar was taken to quarters and confined. Gilora was not worried over exposing her, telling O'Brien that the Order would not look kindly on her failure. DS9: Destiny

 

Dolak - Male - Gul.

Commander of the Cardassian militia unit 41. He led a 2368 effort to assassinate the Bajoran militant Orta through an assault on Orta's carrier-class spacecraft. He intercepted the Enterprise in the Demilitarized zone, claiming the Enterprise was escorting Bajoran terrorists. When the Enterprise moved away from the vessel they were escorting, Dolak fired on it and destroyed the vessel. The vessel had been under remote control and no lives were lost. TNG: Ensign Ro


Dukat, Skrain - Male

Dukat, Mikor - Male - Son of Gul Skrain Dukat, born in 2360. In 2371, for his eleventh birthday, Dukat promised to take him to the amusement center in Lakarian City. Dukat was unable to keep that promise as he was trying to stop the USS Defiant, that had been captured by the Maquis. Dukat commented to Commander Sisko, that the incident could lead to him looking back on the day with hatred towards the Federation. DS9: Defiant

Dukat, Procal - male - Justice. Skrain Dukat's father and a powerful member of the Central Command .  Procal  trusted Elim Garak, which according to Dukat was his only flaw. Procal was later put on trial, where he claimed he only regretted that his ambition outweighed his patriotism. He was interrogated and killed by the Obsidian Order. Years later, Garak would describe Procal as "short sighted". This is a hint of what caused such animosity between Garak and Dukat. A Stitch in Time, DS9: The Die is Cast, Civil Defense

Du'lam, Rokan - male - Retired Chief Archon noted for his particularly harsh judgments. A Stitch in Time

Dunar - male

A Cardassian military officer, Gul Dunar pursued Tanah Los into Bajoran space in 2369. Dunar was forced to break off the chase when Tanah reached Deep Space Nine, and was greatly displeased when Commander Sisko offered him sanctuary.

Ekoor - Male

 A Cardassian soldier who saved Damar, Garak, and Kira from execution by the Jem'Hadar.  Ekoor, fighting to avenge the dead in Lakarian City, helped storm the Female Shapeshifter's ship and end the war. DS9: What You Leave Behind, Part 1 and 2

 

 

 

 

Entek, Corbin - Male

 - The Obsidian Order official who told the surgically altered Kira Nerys that she was actually Legate Ghemor's daughter, an Obsidian Order operative. He led the effort to expose Legate Ghemor's ties to the dissident Cardassian underground. Although successful, Entek was killed and Ghemor managed to escape. DS9: Second Skin. 

 

Entek, Corbin - Male - This Corbin Entek became the new Obsidian Order director in "A Stitch in Time" after the destruction of most of Cardassia Prime by the founders.  He succeeded Pythas Lok who had succeeded Enebran Tain.

Garak, Mila - female

Garak, Tolan - male - Mila Garak's older brother and the man who actually raised Elim Garak. Garak was raised believing his parents were Mila and Tolan. Shortly before his own death, Tolan told Garak the truth about his parentage. After Tolan had died, Mila explained to Garak that he was her brother. A Stitch in Time

 

Ghemor, Iliana - Female -  Obsidian Order operative variously rumored to be dead or in hiding on Bajor as a deep undercover agent. Daughter of Tekeny Ghemor. DS9: Second Skin

 

Ghemor, Tekeny - Male

Goris - Male - Legate. A military leader who added his troops to Damar's rebel movement. Goris and Gul Revok commanded 500,000 men between them. Before Goris could fight, he was betrayed by Revok and he and his men were killed by the Jem'Hadar.DS9: The Dogs of War

Hadar - Male - Gul. A member of the Cardassian Central Command. Hadar could not stop talking about Odo's famous Cardassian neck trick, and even contemplated sending him to entertain the troops during the occupation of Bajor. DS9: The Wire

 


Hogue
- Male -

Student under professor Natima Lang. One of the members of an underground movement to oust the military establishment and build a non-violent future for Cardassia.

In 2370, Hogue was forced to flee Cardassia Prime because of his political views. Hogue, Rekelen and Lang sought refuge at station Deep Space 9, but they were later forced to flee once again when Garak informed the Central Command of their location and sentenced them to death.

Fortunately, Hogue and the others were able to escape, with the assistance of Quark, who installed a small cloaking device on their shuttle. DS9: Profit and Loss

Hovas - Male - Legate. Important Cardassian leader in 2375. A banquet in Havas's honor was attended by Vorta personnel as well as Damar and an attractive Cardassian woman named Siana. DS9: Shadows and Symbols

Prim, Iloja of - Male - The serialist poet from the First Republic. DS9: Destiny

Jasad - Male - Gul.

The commander of the 7th Order who threatened to retake Terok Nor from the Federation or destroy it in retaliation for the loss of a Cardassian ship.

In 2369, he led a group of three Cardassian cruisers to Deep Space 9 after Gul Dukat's warship had seemingly disappeared. Believing that Deep Space 9 had somehow destroyed Dukat's ship, Jasad opened fire on the station. Dukat ordered Jasad to stand down after he re-emerged from the Bajoran wormhole. DS9: Emissary, Part 1 and 2

Kell - Male - Legate

Kell, Tavor - Male - Architect, the designer of Terok Nor. A Cardassian acclaimed for bold architectural designs. He believed every element had to be of a piece, yet have a beauty all its own. In exile, Kell was sparked to greatness by Onaya, the alien who fed on creative energy.  He died young, having his mental energy drained by Onaya. DS9: The Muse

 

Korinas - Female -

Operative from the Obsidian Order intelligence branch during Benjamin Sisko and Gul Dukat's joint search for the U.S.S. Defiant after it was stolen by Maquis operative Thomas Riker in 2371.

She was unsuccessful in concealing the secret Keldon class warships that the Order had constructed illegally in the Orias system.  DS9: Defiant

 

 

Kovat - Male

Public conservator (Ministry of Justice.)  He was very adapt at crafting guilty pleas. Under the judicial system of Cardassia, a person was guilty until proven innocent.

In 2370, he represented Miles O'Brien who was accused of arming the Maquis. When Benjamin Sisko was able to prove that the charges were fabricated by the Cardassian Government, rather than face embarrassment, the court released O'Brien. When Kovat asked what happened, Odo told him he won, he replied, "They'll kill me."   DS9: Tribunal

Lang, Natima - Female
 

Lasaran - Male - Glinn.

Cardassian undercover operative at Soukara who had been passing information on the Dominion and Cardassians to Starfleet. Lasaran became convinced that the Vorta suspected him and requested that he be extracted. Worf and Jadzia were assigned to the mission, but when Jadzia was badly injured Worf abandoned the mission.  Lasaran was killed in 2374 when Worf disregarded a rescue rendezvous in order to save Jadzia instead of extracting Lasaran.  DS9: Change of Heart

 

Lemec - Male

Gul. Cardassian who, with Glinns Tajor and Corak, met with Captain Jellico on the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701-D in 2369. Lemec's ship, the Reklar, was forced into retreat by Jellico. Lemec returned Picard from captivity so that Jellico would not explode the mines that were set in Cardassian space.  TNG: Chain of Command, Part 1 and 2

Lok, Pythas - male - Successor to Enebran Tain as head of the Obsidian Order.  Pythus went to the same Obsidian Order school that Garak did. Not particularly outstanding physically in the academy, he was nevertheless chosen as the new head of the Order for his intellect when Tain retired. A Stitch in Time.

Lokar, Barkan - male - Son of Draban Lokar. Former corrupt administrator for the Bajoran Occupation. Well-known for his excesses in women and in using and disposing of people, friend and foe alike, to further his position.  A Stitch in Time

Lokar, Draban - male - Key member of the Detepa Council. Father of Barkan Lokar. A Stitch in Time

Lonar - Male - Cardassian teen, aged 15, who, in 2375, was the first to recognize Damar was alive and well after the destruction of a Dominion barracks. Lonar called to his friends, all eager to join Damar's impromptu freedom rally. DS9: The Dogs of War

 

 

Lor, Pythas - Male - Succeeded Enebran Tain as Director of the Obsidian Order.  He was severely injured when the Dominion attacked Cardassia Prime and he retired, allowing Corbin Entek to take the position. A Stitch in Time

Maladek - male- Obsidian Order operative

Malor, Nanpart - Male - A famous Cardassian artist, founder of the Valonnan School on Cardassia. DS9: Sons and Daughters

Marratt - Male - Gul. A junior member of the Detapa Council in 2372.  A graduate of the Cardassian Military Academy, Gul Marratt was regarded as "one of Cardassia's rising stars". He was also reputed to be quite the ladies' man, especially with other officers' wives, including Gul Dukat's after Dukat fell out of favor with the Cardassian government. If Dukat had been reinstated he would have assigned Marrat to the Cardassian Embassy on Breen because it's bitter cold there and Cardassians prefer warmer climates. DS9: Return to Grace

Mavek - Male -

 Cardassian aide in Ops on Terok Nor in 2374. Mavek occasionally provided Kira Nerys with her morning cup of raktajino.  DS9: Rocks and Shoals

Gul. . In 2370 he was commander of a Cardassian Galor-class warship. Nador's circuit included the Argus Array. In another quantum reality Nador suspected the array was actually spying on Cardassian activities. TNG: Parallels

Pareg, Cylon - male - Author of  Eternal Stranger, a popular multi-generational novel placed in early and mid Union times. A Stitch in Time

Parmak - Male - Cardassian doctor 

Parn - Male - Legate.

A member of the Cardassian Central Command.  After Gul Dukat's capture in 2370 by the Maquis, Parn claimed Dukat armed Cardassian colonists and deserved his fate. Parn was actually covering his own complicity.


Parn was a political opponent of Gul Dukat and was more than happy to abandon him when the Maquis kidnapped him. A supporter of the Cardassian occupation of Bajor, Parn was uncomfortable being on Deep Space Nine whilst it was under Bajoran control DS9: The Maquis, Part 2

P

Peranius - Male - Legate. DS9: The Die is Cast

Pirak - Male - Gul.

Pirak was a Cardassian Gul who commanded a weapons depot outside the Bajoran city of Hathon during the Cardassian occupation of Bajor. He committed many acts of brutality, including the execution of 15 Bajoran farmers for failing to display a Cardassian banner.

As a result, Pirak became the target of an assassination by the Shakaar Resistance Cell. Trentin Fala told the resistance fighters how to bypass the security systems, Latha Mabrin built the plasma charge to be placed outside Pirak's residence, and Kira Nerys planted the bomb while Furel and Lupaza stood guard. The resulting explosion vaporized the east wing and killed 12 Cardassians, including Pirak's entire family. Twenty-three others were crippled, including Silaran Prin, who would years later seek revenge against all the Bajorans involved.   DS9: The Darkness and the Light

Porania - Male - Legate. A bureaucrat within the Cardassian government noted for being unusually verbose.  Was stunned to speechlessness at the retirement announcements of Enabran Tain. DS9: The Die is Cast

Prang, Lemore - male - Obsidian Order Operative in charge of new agents. A Stitch in Time

Preloc - Male - Cardassian author who wrote the classics "Meditations on a Crimson Shadow"  and "The Never Ending Sacrifice."  "Meditations" was recommended to Dr. Julian Bashir in 2370 by his friend Garak.  DS9: The Wire

Prenar - Male - Cardassian transport dispatcher serving on Bajor during the occupation. Then Ranjen Winn Adami bribed Prenar to send 100 Bajorans from Relliketh to a labor camp instead of to their deaths and to use the excuse that he had misread his orders. DS9: Till Death Do Us Part

Prin, Silaran - Male -

A servant to Gul Pirak on Bajor during the Occupation.  Silaran Prin  worked in the residence of Gul Pirak during the Cardassian Occupation of Bajor. He was badly disfigured when the Shakaar Resistance Cell bombed the residence. For years Prin nurtured an obsessive desire for revenge, feeling that his lowly non-combatant position meant that an attack against him was unfair. In 2373 he murdered several members of the group, culminating in an attempt to murder Kira Nerys. She managed to turn the tables on Prin, killing him instead DS9: The Darkness and the Light

Proka, Rugal - see Pa'Dar, Rugal

Q - R

Ranor - Male - Gul. Commander of the Cardassian warship Kraxon. In 2371, Gul Ranor was involved in the pursuit of the renegade Maquis supporter Thomas Riker, who had stolen the Defiant. Riker later surrendered to the Cardassian in exchange for information on the Orias system.

After Thomas Riker agreed to surrender, Ranor was ordered to protect the Defiant against two Keldon-class warships fielded by the Obsidian Order.  DS9: Defiant

Ra'orn, Alardig - male - Garak's undercover name on his first mission, supposedly the son of Krai Ra'orn, newly appointed consul to the Cardassian Embassy on Tohvun III. A Stitch in Time

Ra'orn, Begom - male - Undercover name of an Obsidian Order operative, supposedly the brother of Alardig Ra'orn (Garak). A Stitch in Time

Ra'orn, Krai - male - Undercover name of an experienced Obsidian Order agent, supposedly the newly appointed consul to the Cardassian Embassy on Tohvun III. A Stitch in Time

Rejal, Gilora - Female - a scientist with the Ministry of Science during the occupation of Bajor.

Rekelen - Female -

Rekelen was a member of the Cardassian underground movement and a student under Professor Natima Lang.

In 2370, Rekelen was forced to flee Cardassia Prime because of her political views. Rekelen, Hogue and Lang sought refuge at station Deep Space 9, but they were later forced to flee once again when Garak informed the Central Command of their location and sentenced them to death.

Fortunately, Rekelen and the others were able to escape, with the assistance of Quark, who installed a small cloaking device on their shuttle.  DS9: Profit and Loss


Revok
- Male - Gul. A military leader who betrayed his ally Legate Goris and the rebellion. Revok turned against Damar's fledgling rebellion against the Dominion forces and tricked him into coming out of hiding. Revok then helped Weyoun locate the 18 rebel bases. His treachery resulted in the death of all Legate Goris' forces on Cardassia Prime and the annihilation of all 18 bases.  DS9: The Dogs of War

Rusot - Male

Russol, Gaten - Male - Gul. Cardassian dissident and informer, one of Security Chief Odo's most reliable sources. Russol was executed in 2373 when Cardassia joined the Dominion. DS9: Treachery, Faith, and the Great River & Terok Nor: Dawn of the Eagles.

Seltan - Male - Gul. Disgruntled Cardassian military officer who was stationed on Cardassia Prime in 2365. Damar was hoping to recruit Seltan and his 100,000 forces to his resistance forces, but Seltan was betrayed by Gul Revok and was killed before he could join. DS9: The Dogs of War

Seska - female

 

Seskal - Male - Glinn

 Cardassian soldier who rose to the top of Damar's liberation movement. Seskal was killed in 2375 as he was orbiting Cardassia Prime in a stolen Jem'Hadar ship that transported Damar, Elim Garak, and Kira Nerys to Cardassia Prime for a meeting with Gul Revok and Legate Goris.   He had been betrayed by Gul Revok.. DS9: When It Rains, The Dogs of War

Shoggoth - Male - The author of Cardassian enigma tales. DS9: Distant Voices

Siana - Female -

Cardassian woman who caught Damar's eye at a gathering, in 2375, for Legate Hovas. Damar gave her a briefing on the war effort in the Dominion war room. Soon after, Weyoun entered, telling Damar that he would have her executed if she remained. After she left, Weyoun told Damar that Siana was "a pleasant woman." DS9: Shadows and Symbols

Surjak - Male - Former head of the Obsidian Order and enemy of Enabran Tain. On Tain's deathbed, Garak assured him that Surjak had been "taken care of." DS9: In Purgatory's Shadow

Tajor - Male - Glinn. 

Cardassian officer serving as Gul Lemec's adjutant in 2369. Tajor accompanied Lemec to the U.S.S. Enterprise-D to meet with Captain Jellico.. TNG: Chain of Command, Part 1 and 2

 

 

Telak - Male - Glinn One of Gul Evek's officers on the Cardassian ship Vetar. Telak was forced to recall his men from Dorvan V after Evek and Jean-Luc Picard agreed to retreat. TNG: Journey's End

 

Telle - Male

Glinn (aide to Gul Macet)

While onboard the Enterprise-D on a mission to track down the USS Phoenix, he was detected by Worf at a computer station on Deck 35, attempting to access information on the ship's weapon systems. For this, he was confined to his quarters by Macet for the rest of the mission. TNG: The Wounded

 


Thrax
- Male - The security chief at Terok Nor in the 2350's. Was replaced by Odo after Kiras Nerys killed him.

Odo, Jadzia Dax, Benjamin Sisko, and Garak experienced a shared telepathic reality in which Thrax arrested them for the attempted murder of Dukat. They assumed the identities of three Bajorans that were executed for the attempted murder. Even though Thrax could have investigated further and cleared the men, he did not. As the telepathic reality plays out it is discovered that Odo, not Thrax, was the one who let the prisoners die.  DS9: Things Past


Timot, Mindur
- male - Obsidian Order scientist who installed Garak's wire. A Stitch in Time.
 

Toran - Male

Gul. An old acquaintance of Garak's. In 2370, he arrived on DS9 and met with Garak, who informed the Cardassian government about Natima and her students. Toran told Garak this alone was not enough to end his exile, and that if he hoped to return to Cardassia, he must kill the fugitives. Quark convinced Odo to release the prisoners, but as the trio prepared to leave, Garak showed up, ready to kill them all. Then Gul Toran arrived, sensing Garak's hesitancy, and decided to kill the prisoners himself. But Garak would not allow it, being a Lang supporter, killed Toran, and let the students go.  DS9: Profit and Loss

Tora Ziyal - See Ziyal, Tora

Toran - Male - Gul (the 6th Order). The Commander of Outpost 61 in the Almatha Sector. Toran reported being attacked by the USS Defiant after it had been stolen by the Maquis in 2371. However, the attack was a diversion created by a ship projecting a false warp signature, so that the real Defiant could attack Outpost 47 and slip into Cardassian territory. DS9: Defiant

Trepar - Male - Gul. The commander of the 4th Order. Trepar was Gul Dukat's most powerful political enemy, as Trepar had once outranked Dukat and resented his former subordinate's rising above him. DS9: Ties of Blood and Water
 

Turrel - Male - Legate.

U - V

Vorlem - Male  - Gul. Cardassian officer who earned the enmity of Enabran Tain, head of Cardassia's feared Obsidian Order. In 2373, Garak dropped hints that he had murdered Vorlem. DS9: In Purgatory's Shadow

A Cardassian at the repair facility at Kelvas V in 2375. Like many Cardassians, he was disillusioned by with the alliance with the Dominion and sympathetic to the Cardassian rebellion. Guarding the entrance to a Jem'Hadar ship when Damar appeared in disguise, Vornar recognized Damar, but pretended he did not, granting Damar permission to enter. DS9: Tacking Into the Wind

Yalter - Male - Gul (the 3rd Order). DS9: Image in the Sand

Yeln - Male - "Bajoran" man who confirmed sharing a Cardassian prison cell, at Elemspur Detention Center, with Kira Nerys during the occupation. Yeln was later exposed as an Obsidian Order operative. DS9: Second Skin

Zarale - Male - Gul. The member of the Bajoran Occupational Forces. Cardassian notorious for his bloodlust. Zarale died in the Sahving Valley on Bajor when the Bajoran resistance leader Li Nalas stumbled upon him at a vulnerable moment. Zarale's death helped launch Li Nalas's legendary status. DS9: The Homecoming
